Diesel engine explosions, real cases.

Information not only about damage cases inside engines are hard to obtain, even crankcase explosions of engines are hardly published.

As mentioned before, Lloyd's Register of Shipping, London indicates 117 crankcase explosions over a period of ten years. This allows the assumption of roughly 60 explosions p.a. for ships being classed under the IACS.

For the Analyst it seems impossible to make here an assessment of lost money or even about injured human's health or lost life.
There are published explosion events which caused single expenses between 500.000 US$ and 25.000.000 US$ each. Even less known are details about suffered injuries or death.
